White Italian Carrara French Bistro Marble Table, 28" Diameter, with 3-Legged Base

Made popular in Paris during the late 19th and early 20th centuries, marble bistro tables were a staple of Parisienne daily life. To this day, tables like these continue to be used in bars, restaurants, and cafés throughout France, Europe, and other parts of the world. These solid marble top and cast iron base tables are constructed in the same manner as they were over 100 years ago.

Each table features an antiqued, seamless brass band that encompasses the rim, protecting the marble. The table's pedestal base features a 3-legged cast iron bottom, ensuring a stable and solid table. 

The tables are suitable for use indoors or outdoors but best if kept under an overhang.

The table is packed into two boxes—the table top in one box and the base in the second. The items included in the base box include:
• Iron hoop with three screws and nuts.
• Three table legs, each with an attached ball foot.

The tools needed to assemble the table are:
• Flathead screwdriver
• Pliers.

Carefully place the marble table top face down on a flat, smooth surface. You will find three screws attached to the bottom of the table top, each with screws attached. Remove the three nuts from the screws and set them aside. Remove the three iron legs from the base box. There is an eyelet located at the end of each iron leg. Align each eyelet over the screw located on the bottom of the table top and secure each leg with a nut, tightening by hand. Repeat until all three legs are attached.

Next, remove screws and nuts from the iron ring. Center the ring inside all three legs. Align a ring hole with the hole in the middle of each leg. Insert a screw through a ring hole from the inside out. Place a nut on the end of the screw and tighten by hand. Tighten only enough to hold the nut on the screw. Repeat this process until all three legs are attached to the iron ring. Be sure not to over-tighten, as you will need to adjust the legs later to add the three-pronged base.

Remove all three ball feet at the end of each leg. Place the three-pronged brace over the end of a leg hole and screw on the ball foot. Repeat until all three round feet are attached. It is best to leave the round feet relatively loose until the iron ring has been completely tightened.

Tighten the iron ring’s screws and nuts with a screwdriver and pliers until the legs are free from movement. Then, the three ball feet can be tightened by hand as tightly as possible to help stabilize the table. Carefully lift the table and turn it upright. It is easier to turn the table over with two people. Continue to tighten the screws and nuts in the iron ring if needed.

Cleaning our marble or granite bistro tables daily is unnecessary, but occasional light maintenance is recommended. To clean the marble, wipe down the surface with a non-abrasive cloth or sponge, mild soap (such as dishwashing detergent), and water. Do not use vinegar, Windex, or bleach when cleaning, as these acidic substances can eventually eat into marble or granite and dull the stone. It is also essential not to use abrasive cleaners or pads, as they can scratch the marble's surface.

REMOVING STAINS

 If you encounter a spill, wipe it up immediately, especially acidic ones, then rinse with a clean, damp cloth. If wine, coffee, or juice has spilled, use an absorbent cloth or paper towels to soak up as much liquid as possible, as quickly as possible. Then pour baking soda liberally directly on the spill and slowly add a small amount of club soda (or water, if club soda is not available) to create a thick paste. Rub the paste into the spot using small circular motions with pressure. Let the mixture sit over the spot for the next 24 hours. Remove the dry paste with a liberal amount of water and a clean rag. You
can also use a plastic scraper and water, being careful not to scratch the stone's surface. Repeat the process if needed. These stains usually come out of the marble.
