DESCRIPTION

Our tables are the most authentically made French marble bistro tables on the world market. From the Italian Carrara Marble to the seamless brass rim, all aspects of the tables have been faithfully reproduced from late 19th-century French bistro tables.

Bistro tables like ours were initially made famous during Paris' Belle Époque. After 150 years, they continue to be used in daily Parisienne cafés and restaurants.

Like our rattan furniture, our tables are meant to be used. They easily hold up to daily restaurant life. Their solid marble top and cast iron base are constructed to the same standards as the originals, including the band, which encircles the marble for protection and features an antiqued, seamless brass hoop. The powder-coated base features the same detail, also taken from an early 20th-century French bistro table. All construction has been faithfully reproduced, including how the marble is fixed to the table. Heavy-duty steel bars are used under the table top to hold the marble to the base.

The tables can be used indoors or outdoors. If left outside, they are best kept under an overhang.

  • Italian Carrara Bianco (white) marble.

MEASUREMENTS & WEIGHT

  • Stands approximately 28.5" (72 cm) tall from floor to the top of the table.
  • Weighs approximately 75 lbs. (34 kg).
ASSEMBLY INSTRUCTIONS

Upon opening your box, you will see three boxes – the table top (A), the table stem (B), and the table base (C). Inside the table base box, you will find a small bag containing two screws. These two screws consist of a double-sided screw (D) and a bolt (E), and are used to hold the table together.

Begin assembling the table by placing the table stem (B) onto the center hole of the table base (C). Then insert the bolt (E) underneath and through the hole located in the center of the table base (C) and screw the bolt into the bottom of the table stem. Use a wrench to tighten the bolt to secure the two pieces together.

Next, screw one side of the double-sided screw (D) halfway into the bracket hole located underneath the table top. Then turn the top over (table top up) and center the table over the table stem. Insert the extended part of the double-sided screw into the hole located in the table stem. Begin turning the table top clockwise, the top should begin to screw onto the table stem. Once the top does not turn any longer, the table top is secure. The goal is to distribute the double-sided screw evenly between the table top and the stem. Be careful not to over tighten tabletop to the table stem.

CARE

CLEANING

Cleaning our marble or granite bistro tables daily is unnecessary, but occasional light maintenance is suggested. To clean the marble, wipe down the surface using a non-abrasive cloth or sponge, mild soap (like
dishwashing detergent), and water. Do not use vinegar, Windex, or bleach when cleaning, as these acidic substances can eventually eat into the marble or granite and dull the stone. It is also essential not to use abrasive cleaners or pads since they can scratch the surface of the marble.

 REMOVING STAINS

If you encounter a spill, wipe it up immediately, especially acidic ones, then rinse with a clean, damp cloth. If wine, coffee, or juice has been spilled, it will usually lift after placing a paper towel soaked in bleach over the spot for 24 hours. You can also try pouring baking soda directly on the spill and slowly adding a small amount of club soda to create a thick paste. Rub the paste into the stain using a clean white cloth in small circular motions. Let the paste dry and remove after 24 hours. Repeat if needed. These stains usually do come out of the marble.
