This Rooster Finial is a reproduction of a vintage 19th-century ornament originally made famous for its use on top of absinthe fountains. It was found on all Absinthe Terminus fountains, a popular 19th-century French absinthe. Those antique fountains are rare and difficult to find, especially with their original glass bowl intact.
The rooster is known as France's iconic national emblem, a moniker that originated in the Middle Ages.
The finial will fit 4 and 6 tap fountains made by Bonnecaze. It will not fit other fountains. The stone cap replaces the original finial on your fountain lid.
